Casa de la Luz Hospice was established in 1998 to provide sensitivity, care, and support for patients and their loved ones during the end of life. Lynette Jaramillo, and Agnes C. Poore, local Tucson women, created Casa de la Luz Hospice with three goals in mind. First, they wanted to deliver comfort care far beyond what most organizations were offering patients and their loved ones; second, to assemble a group of employees and volunteers who would be bound together with a common set of values and a strong work ethic; and third, to build an organization that offered financial security and professional growth to all employees and volunteers. To fulfill this vision, the founders identified core values that would serve as the essential guiding principles of the organization.
This event was centered around light, to represent the light that Casa De La Luz provides to those in need. We hung nearly 100 paper star lanterns behind a hand made adobe home cut out with candles placed around the room! Thanks to Casa De La Luz for having us!
